What's the strangest town in Montana?

According to the TikTok page Goobie and Doobie, the strangest town in Montana is located in the Northeastern part of the state. The small town is just a few miles from Glasgow.

Located 16 miles North of Glasgow is the little town of St Marie, Montana.  The town is odd in the fact that it isn't a ghost town, but it's not far from it. You see, according to social site, St. Marie is filled with abandoned homes and buildings, yet people are still living there and calling the little town home.

The story of St. Marie is indeed a strange one.

Back in the days of the Cold War, the Glasgow Air Force Base was located in St. Marie, and the town was used for "Base Housing". Once the Base was decommissioned, people left, yet the homes remained. Over the years, there have been multiple attempts to "revitalize" the area and the homes, but nothing has stuck.

The town of St. Marie has a population of just over 200 people, yet housing for thousands more, although many of those homes are in despair. Honestly, it would be the perfect setting for a low-budget horror film.

The town certainly has an eerie vibe going for it, and over a decade ago there was a battle between the town and an anti-government group that wanted to take over the town. The movement failed and resulted in litigation.
