I once had a high school English teacher tell me that people who swore did so because of a lack of vocabulary. You should also know she thought she was a horse in another life, so there's that.

A new study examined social media posts on a popular platform and determined how often each state cursed and then ranked them accordingly.

Where does Montana rank when it comes to cursing?

When it comes to cursing, it seems Montana is ranked 39th out of the 50 states, according to the folks over at NFT PlazasSo which state is the most foul-mouthed in all of America?

I wasn't surprised to learn it was Texas.

Texas likes to do everything bigger and better, and apparently, that includes cursing. Oh, and in case you were wondering what their favorite curse word to use is, it's the F word.

Rounding out the Top 5 Most Foul-Mouthed States is New Jersey at #2, which is funny because when I think of New Jersey, I often think of #2. Connecticut is #3, Ohio is 4th, and Wisconsin comes in at 5th.

As far as a list of the most used cursed words across America the list goes as follows:

  • The F word
  • The S word
  • Damn
  • Hell
  • Bullsh!%
