Montana Seeks Top History Teacher For Statewide Award
Teachers play a huge role in shaping kids. Most of us can think back to at least one who really made an impact. The kind who went out of their way, believed in you when you needed it, and made learning actually stick. Those are the ones you never forget.

Now there is a chance to give back to teachers like that here in Montana. Nominations are officially open for the 37th Montana Statehood Centennial Bell Award, which recognizes an outstanding middle or high school teacher who goes above and beyond teaching Montana history. If you know someone who brings the subject to life and connects with their students, this is a great way to show some appreciation.

The nomination process is simple and only takes a couple of minutes. Submissions are due by April 13. From there, selected teachers will be asked to provide a few letters of support along with a short write-up about their teaching style, how they engage students, and how they highlight different perspectives within Montana’s history.
The winner will be honored later this year at a ceremony held at the State Capitol. Along with the recognition, they will also receive a cash award of more than $3,000 to put back into their classroom. That could go toward supplies, field trips, guest speakers, or anything that helps create a better learning experience.

The award is organized by the Montana Historical Society and supported by several local groups. If a teacher made a difference in your life or your child’s, this is a pretty meaningful way to say thank you. You can find more information and details HERE.
