Back in the day, one of my favorite things to watch was those "Man VS Food" shows that were all over the place. If you've never seen one, this guy travels to different towns across the United States and takes on crazy food challenges to see if he can win.

If I remember right, most of the time, food won, but that makes sense because some of these challenges were a crazy amount of food.

So what about Montana? Do we have a crazy food challenge here in Big Sky Country? Is there some sort of Elk or Bison Burger challenge? Or a "How many Rocky Mountain Oysters can you eat in 30 minutes" contest?

We do have a few food challenges, and the biggest one to take place was located at a popular Montana Steak House.

Does Montana have a food challenge?

Because Montana has more cows than people, it would make sense that our biggest food challenge would be based around beef. I mean, Montana produces some of the best beef in the world, so when it came to a challenge, the 78 oz steak at the old Bull Mountain Grill was something to see.

As you can see, it's an enormous amount of food that a normal human being could never finish. I mean, not only is there the steak, but there's all the fixin's as well.

Sadly, the Billings restaurant is no longer in business and closed in 2024, but the legend of the 78 oz steak lives on!
