Americans are known for many things, one of them being our fondness for road trips.

As folks travel across the United States, there are several noteworthy stops along the way. Some of them are woven into our cultural fabric, such as historic battlefields, cemeteries, and memorials. Others are awe-inspiring, such as Mount Rushmore or the St. Louis Arch.

Then, of course, there are the more unusual landmarks. It seems that each state has one or two of these "must-see" roadside attractions. Kansas has the Largest Ball of Twine. Texas is home to Cadallic Ranch. South Dakota has Wall Drug and the Corn Palace, but what about Montana?

What is Montana's best roadside attraction?

Located in the town of Cut Bank is the world's largest statue of a penguin. Now, I'm not sure if this is official, but we're going with it. So, why a penguin, you ask? Here's the deal: this statue is a big deal.

While I was pulled over to take pictures, multiple other cars drove up, rolled down their windows, took a quick photo, and were off. One of them was from Colorado. The passenger told me that her husband was totally against it, but she needed to see it. Then, the lady in the back shouted out, "We drove a hundred miles out of the way to see this stupid thing!"

I'm not sure I would drive a couple hundred extra miles, but if you're in the Cut Bank area, it's certainly a must-see.
