Just How Fat Are Montanans?
It's not a secret that America has a weight problem. As someone who was born fat and has remained fat my entire life, I feel like I can talk on this subject.
Over the last few decades, it seems that our waistline has grown with the times. People walk less, eat more fast food, and spend hours staring at screens, whether it's for work or pleasure.
Here in Montana, we've been affected. While popular weight-loss drugs are becoming more popular and are showing great results, it doesn't take away from the fact that many Montanans are eating unhealthy and putting on the pounds.

How fat are Montanans?
According to the U.S. Obesity Rates, Montana is ranked among the least obese states. While that is good news, on the flip side of that, what is alarming is that almost 1/3 of the Montana population is considered "obese".
The data states that Montana has an obesity rate of 30.50 percent, which places us towards the bottom of the list. Oh, and if you're wondering which state is the least obese, according to the statistics, that would be Colorado, where only 1 in 4 is considered obese.
In case you're wondering what makes one obese, it seems that having a BMI of 30 or over qualifies you as obese.
Montana is an outdoor state, so it makes sense that we would have one of the lowest rates in the country. If you're wondering which states are the most obese, it seems are friends in the Midwest and South are tipping the scale in their favor (pun intended)
