Growing up, my Dad spent every nice weekend at his Country Club playing golf. I was occasionally invited, which was always fun because he let me drive the cart, and then after would buy me a cheeseburger at the Clubhouse.

Dad was a good golfer, so I figured I would be too. Come to find out, that wasn't the case. In theory, it should be easy to play, right? You have a ball, you have a club, you have a target. You hit the ball, it goes to the target.

If only it were that easy.

To enjoy golf, you need patience, which I'm not overly blessed with. In my attempts to play the game, there has been lots of cussing and throwing clubs. I'm not even good at mini golf. So to ease my frustration, I decided that golf wasn't for me. However, when the weather warms up, many Montanans love to play the game.

With just under 120 golf courses across the state, Montanans have plenty of options to play. According to Golf Link there are 73 public courses along with 18 municipal and 21 private. So no matter your budget or social standing, you're sure to find a course that suits you.
