Millennials and Montana. Is This The Perfect State For Them?
As Montana grows as a state, it seems like there is an age group that is overtaking some of the once quiet, remote towns. Not a judgment, just the facts. BUT is this the best state for millennials?
First off, what qualifies someone as a "millennial"?
According to PewResearch.Org:
Anyone born between 1981 and 1996 (ages 23 to 38 in 2019) is considered a Millennial, and anyone born from 1997 onward is part of a new generation.
I guess by this research, I am considered a millennial, as I was born in 1984 (best year EVER, personal opinion). I never really think of myself as a millennial. Honestly, I feel millennials have received a "reputation" for many things that don't necessarily represent my views.
So how does Montana rank when it comes to either being one of the best or one of the worst for millennials?
Wallethub always has the best polls. They do their research, put together the numbers, and then either make us really happy OR really mad. Drum roll please...
According to this, we are ranked 34th. Kind of in the middle, BUT not the best OR the worst for us millennials. Wallethub explains how they came to these rankings in this quick video.
And if I am being honest, it seems pretty legit. It will be interesting to see what next year's numbers are with the extensive growth of people working remotely from other states BUT living here.
So what do you think? Are millennials slowly taking over our beautiful state? How does it make you feel?
I don't see a problem with anyone moving anywhere, as long as they are working or at least giving back to the community and MOST IMPORTANTLY, not trying to change the ways of the town they are now calling home. But that goes for anyone moving anywhere.
