Aside from this cool opportunity to learn from these guys in person, you'll probably find them in one of the online gardening groups on Facebook. I've never met either one of them in person and I'm always reading helpful advice from them when someone less experienced has a question. They love gardening and it shows.
The Gallatin Gardeners Club is an inclusive group of gardening enthusiasts who grow home gardens and also plant, harvest and sell fresh produce from our market garden located at the MSU Horticulture farm. The Club returns all proceeds to the community in the form of grants.
Here's what you can expect this Saturday morning at Cashman Nursery during this seminar: It’s no secret that home grown veggies taste incredible compared to their bland single-variety grocery store counterpart. Growing your own allows complete control over production methods, builds community resilience, and yields numerous other health benefits.
Don and Frank will reflect on their own decades of experience growing vegetables here in the valley. They’ll share what’s changed, what hasn’t, and their favorite varieties proven as easy and productive in our short growing season.
Cashman's hosts a variety of classes and seminars just about every weekend during the season. Most of them are absolutely free, while some have a small cost due to materials that you might use for your own garden. Enjoy the wealth of knowledge these classes can bring to your gardening game, even if you're a beginner!
