The 8th Elementary School is in need of a name.  And they want Bozeman to help!  Today is the last day to vote for #8 "The Ocho" as it has been dubbed here at XL.  So click here and VOTE!

• Caroline McGill Elementary School (1879-1959, Montana’s first pathologist; helped found the Museum of the Rockies, the School of Nursing at MSU and the 320 Ranch in Gallatin Valley)
• Granite Peak Elementary School (Tallest peak in Montana)
• Ida Davis Elementary School (1879-1962, Gallatin Valley Educator for over 50 years; Gallatin County Superintendent 1910-18; head of English Department and Mathematics Department GCHS; Supervisor of Montana State College 1930-35)
• Jeanette Rankin Elementary School  (Born Missoula 1880-1973, first woman elected to serve in US Congress; Women’s Rights Activist – her work helped pass 19th amendment)
• Meadowlark Elementary School (State bird of Montana; indigenous bird well-known for its cheerful call)
• Mike Mansfield Elementary School (1903-2001, US Navy, Army & Marine Corps; MSU Professor of History & Political Science; US Congressman; Longest Senate Majority Leader 1961-77; Longest serving American ambassador to Japan 1977-88; Presidential Medal of Freedom)
• Robert Frost Elementary School (American Poet regarded for his realistic depictions of rural life; received four Pulitzer Prizes for poetry; read a poem at John F. Kennedy’s Inauguration)
• Spanish Peaks Elementary School (Oldest peaks in the Madison Range composed of 76,000 acres; full of rugged alpine peaks, abundant wildlife, hidden lakes & miles of forest)
