In 2025, the Bobcats will travel to Eugene to face the mighty Oregon Ducks and battle FCS powerhouse South Dakota State.

Many FBS programs schedule FCS programs for nonconference games, believing they will win easily.

Well, one game is on the horizon featuring a familiar face for many Bobcat fans.

Montana State Heading to Nevada

Montana State will head to Reno to battle the Nevada Wolfpack in 2026.

Why is this important?

The coach for the Nevada Wolfpack is former Bobcat coach Jeff Choate.

Jeff Choate took over a Bobcat program in turmoil and turned them into a powerhouse.

Choate had an incredible four years at MSU, including a perfect record in the Brawl of the Wild and twice making the playoffs.

Choate left MSU for the defensive coordinator position at Texas and took the Nevada job this past year.

Choate hopes he can find the same magic at Nevada that he had in Bozeman.

Choate often speaks fondly of Montana State, and we know many Bobcat fans will trek to Reno for this game.
