Four Montana Towns Make List For Best Small Cities In America

What makes a great city or town? Is it the people? The places? The activities? Or is it a combination of all of the above? I ask because one Montana town recently ranked near the top for Best Small Cities in America, but it wasn't the only town in Montana to make the list.

Although many locals will tell you that Montana is "full", the truth is that we're still pretty rural here in Big Sky Country.

The folks at WalletHub put together a list of the Best Small Cities in America, and they left no stone unturned. In fact, they reviewed well over a thousand small cities, and what stood out to me was that four Montana towns made the list.

Although one of those towns ranks near the top for Best Small City in America.

Before we reveal the two Montana towns that made the list, let's check out the list of the 7 Best Towns in Montana. 

Where is the best place to live in Montana?

As mentioned, four Montana towns made the list. One of them is Helena. The State Capitol receives lots of love from different publications, including this one. While there were a few hundred towns ranked higher, it's always nice to get invited to the dance, right?

The same goes for both Great Falls and Missoula. Both towns made the list; however, much like Helena, they were much farther down than Montana's top town.

So, which Montana town ranked near the top?

If you haven't figured it out yet, while much of Montana might not be fans, outside of the state, people love Bozeman. The popular town was ranked near the top with an overall score of just over 68. Bozeman is ranked the 21st Best Small City in America.

It won't come as a huge surprise that Bozeman isn't affordable (1112), but the thing that I was most taken aback by is that, according to the statistics, 437 towns are safer than Bozeman.
