The Montana fires of 2017 will certainly go into the history books. When these fires are eventually put out more than 1 million acres of Montana timberland will have burned. Perhaps even as much as 2 million, since many reports predict that some of these fires won't be able to be completely extinguished until there is measurable snow fall.
