Living in Bozeman, if there is one thing we have an abundance of, it's grocery stores.

No matter what you're into or looking for, chances are, you can find it right here. We have the Co-Op and Whole Foods, we have multiple Town and Country Foods locations, we have national chains like Albertsons and Safeway, plus we have stores that deal in saving money like Winco and Walmart.

Co-Op and Whole Foods are great for those who are into the all-natural, organic stuff. Town and Country Foods is locally and employee-owned, and the others are more of a box store feel, but have a pretty big selection.

Speaking of groceries, how much do you think the average Montanan spends a week? How about a month?

According to data, a significant amount of our income is spent on groceries here in Montana, and the really crazy part? Apparently, we are one of the cheapest states in the country to buy groceries. The data says Montana is ranked 46th out of 50 according to costs, which I might question just a little bit.

How much do Montanans spend on groceries?

I asked AI to break it down for me, and according to the internet, the average Montanan spends about 250 dollars a week on groceries, or right around 1000 dollars a month. I'll be honest, this seems high to me, but I'm guessing different factors are going into this.

I would think it's based on an average number of people in the family, and while I'm ok with eating the same thing multiple days in a row, most people probably aren't, so that might be a factor as well.

What do you think? Does this sound right to you? Does the average Montanan spend around 250 dollars a week on groceries? How much do you spend?
