Farmers’ Almanac Predicts ‘Frigid and Snowy’ Winter for Montana

The Farmers' Almanac just released the 2019-2020 winter outlook. According to the extended forecast, it looks like we're in for a nasty winter. It is being referred to as a "Polar Coaster Winter."

The worst of the bitterly cold winter conditions are expected to affect areas east of the Rockies all the way to the Appalachians.

According to the Farmers' Almanac winter prediction, the coldest temperatures should arrive during the final week of January and last through the beginning of February.

Above-normal winter precipitation is predicted for Montana which means the state could receive quite a bit of snow.

The extended outlook also predicts that between January 4-7 and 12-15, many parts of the country could see "copious amounts of snow, rain, sleet, and ice.

For Montana, "freezing, frigid, and frosty" conditions are expected, according to the Almanac.

A late spring is also predicted and isn't expected to hit most areas until mid-to-late April.
