Camping Restrictions in Place After Bear Claws Tent in GNP

If you're planning a camping trip in Glacier National Park in the near future, restrictions have been put in place after a black bear clawed and shook a tent.

Due to aggressive bear activity, Rising Sun Campground has gone hard-sided only.

If you have an RV or other hard-sided trailer you can camp there, but temporarily, no soft-sided campers or tents are permitted.

According to the report, the bear entered the rainfly vestibule as well. Fortunately, there was no food in the tent and the tent was not occupied.

Rising Sun is a frequented wildlife corridor and berries are abundant at this time of year.
