According to data from Cinch Home Services, Butte saw an almost 20 percent increase in rent from 2023 to 2024. The numbers state that the average monthly rent in Butte in 2023 was just under 1130 a month. However, in 2024 that number jumped to just under 1350 a month.
Other towns that made the list include:
- Dickinson, North Dakota
- Oxford, Mississippi
- Edwards, Colorado
- Athens, Tennesee
Why such a big increase in rent in Butte?
Great question! We all know the history of Butte, I mean, it's legendary. Not only is it the most "Irish" town in America, but it's also filled with some impressive old buildings and lots of cool architecture.
There's a big push to revitalize the town and with popular events like the Folk Festival continuing to grow, maybe some of that hard work is paying off. Of course, it could also just be a sign of the times and since towns like Bozeman and Missoula are charging outrageous rent prices, Butte decided to follow in those footsteps.
