Food is one of those things that can bring people together.

Here in Montana, we are known for several distinct culinary creations. Of course, when you think of Montana, you think of huckleberries and Flathead cherries. But there is much more to Montana than just that. The state is filled with some amazing food, but if you could only pick one Montana restaurant to go to, which one would it be?

It's a tough question. I mean, there are so many choices. One restaurant? Just one?

What is the one restaurant everyone should go to in Montana?

According to one food blogger who visited every state and selected only one restaurant in each, the answer seemed to be fairly straightforward. Not only is this place packed full of history, but it's also located in one of the most historic towns in the country.

According to the food blogger MJ, the one restaurant everyone should try in Montana is located in the city of Butte. Oh, and it's also the oldest family-owned restaurant in the country, AND the oldest Chinese Restaurant in the United States.

Yep, the one Montana restaurant that everyone should visit is Pekin Noodle Parlor.

In business since 1911, the restaurant has been passed down from generation to generation. It's an incredible run, and certainly worth checking out. Winner of a 2023 James Beard Award, the restaurant has been featured in many major publications and on national TV shows such as Good Morning America, The Today Show, and CBS Sunday Morning.

Oh, and Pekin Noodle Parlor isn't the only James Beard Award Winner.

The recently reopened Matt's Place was a James Beard Award winner back in 2016. So, the next time you're in Butte, check out some history, and some historic food. From Chinese to a pasty, from a nut burger to a pork chop sandwich, you're sure to find something that will hit the spot.
