I love working in Downtown Bozeman.  One, because we have our own parking lot, I always have a spot. Two, because of the number of amazing places to grab lunch.

Because I'm still new to Bozeman, I rely on the kindness and recommendations of co-workers when it comes to checking out a place to eat.  One of those co-workers, Will, told me I had to check out Backcountry Burger Bar.

Now, Will might have poor taste in Major League Baseball Teams, but he absolutely knows where to find a fantastic burger.

Backcountry Burger Bar is located at 125 W Main and they're open seven days a week.  They start each day at 11 am and have a really nice menu with several different options including salads, soups, apps, and of course, burgers.

I went with the Calamity Jane burger and it was beyond great.

A perfectly cooked burger, with bacon, jalapeno jelly, and scallion cream cheese in between one of the best buns I've ever had. Oh, and if you are gluten-free, they've got you covered with GF buns as well. I added a side of house-cut fries with a garlic parmesan aioli. Throw in the fact that it's a really cool building with an awesome atmosphere and it's a top-notch experience.

One of the really cool things about Backcountry Burger Bar is that you can totally customize your burger.  You can make it a double, or you can go with 100% grass-fed Yellowstone Beef, Bison, or a plant-based Beyond Beef patty.

Finally, it didn't cost an arm and a leg which was an added bonus.  Sometimes it's hard to get lunch for under 20 bucks, and my bill didn't come close to that. So, if you're looking for lunch in Downtown Bozeman, check out Backcountry Burger Bar!
