Bozeman will get a new mayor this evening. Chris Mehl, a 10-year city commissioner, will take the oath to be Bozeman's mayor tonight at the Bozeman City Commissioners first meeting of the new year.

Mehl was voted in as Bozeman's mayor in the 2017 election. He had to serve as deputy mayor for two years before taking over for current mayor Cindy Andrus. Andrus will now move into the deputy mayor's position.

New Bozeman commissioner Michael Wallner will also be sworn in tonight. Wallner is taking the seat vacated by long-time commissioner Jeff Krauss, who is stepping down from local government after 16 years.

Tonight's swearing in ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m. at Bozeman City Hall.
