
Bozeman Standoff Ends Peacefully After Residents Evacuated
A standoff between a suspect and the Bozeman Police Department ended last night after several hours with no injuries.
According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the area of 2700 of Turbulence Lane after calls about a weapons disturbance. Once officers arrived, they noticed that the suspect was barricaded. The report says that due to the "severity of the alleged crimes" that the Gallatin Country Swat Team was requested and that a number of residents were evacuated for safety concerns.

Once the Swat team arrived on the scene, they focused on establishing contact with the suspect. After multiple hours of non-compliance, the Swat Team used tools to gain compliance from the suspect who was taken into custody peacefully.
What charges is the suspect facing?
Currently, the suspect faces the following charges:
- Assault with a weapon (felony)
- Partner/Family Members assaulted (misdemeanor)
- Failure to register as a sexual or violent offender (felony)
- Possession of firearm by convicted person (felony)
Because of the mix of the charges, the suspect is currently being held without bond. The Bozeman Police Department released a statement that said the following:
We want to thank the residents in the area whose night with interrupted for their understanding during the incident
There were several misleading reports on social media about the event, which is why it is important to wait for the official statement to come out from law enforcement.
