Students return to school next week in the Gallatin Valley, but for parents, school begins this week! Bozeman Parent University (BPU) 2018-2019 education series begins on August 22nd with Bozeman District Resources 101 -  everything parents need to know to navigate the school system, including a tour of the BSD#7 website.

Guest speakers will include:

  • Superintendent Rob Watson
  • Deputy Superintendent Marilyn King.

BPU is a collaboration between Bozeman School District #7, Thrive and The Bozeman Schools Foundation.  BPU was established three years ago to equip families with new or additional skills, knowledge, resources and confidence in a fun and "easy to use" way to learn about current topics related to schools and raising happy, healthy, successful children.

In addition to scheduled offerings, the BPU website, located at BSD7.org (under the students & parents tab), provides information on upcoming sessions as well as short video clips called ‘Parent University - On the Go.’

Deputy Superintendent Marilyn King said, “Research has shown that families can increase a child's academic and social success through their involvement with schools and their knowledge about parenting issues.”
