The issue of the homeless population has been growing in Bozeman for quite some time, and it's time to figure out a solution.

Everyone likes to think of Bozeman as this beautiful, scenic city, but there are some problems over the past few years that have been growing, and we simply can't ignore them anymore. One of the main issues that have been growing has been the homeless population in Bozeman. From families to adults, there are a lot of folks that need help.

There are a few programs installed right now. There is Family Promise that exclusively helps out homeless families to help them get back on their feet. Then there is The Warming Center from HRDC, which helps out all types of people from families to single adults. The problem with The Warming Center is that they are only seasonally during the cold, winter months of Bozeman. It's time for Bozeman to invest in a year-round homeless shelter that can help everyone.

The reason why I bring this up is that we have done stories about the growing encampments of tents, campers, and RV's near Target. The problem is there is more than that out there in Bozeman. From downtown to the baseball fields, you can find homeless people all over our city.

If Bozeman ever wants to combat the problem and help fix the issue of homelessness, it's time to fully invest in a homeless shelter that can not only house and help folks year-round but give them the resources to get back on their feet.

Hopefully, by that time Bozeman might have some affordable housing, but that's another argument for a different day.
