Bozeman’s New Crime Map Reveals What’s Really Happening In Your Neighborhood
If you’ve ever wondered what’s really going on around town (besides the elk traffic jams and coffee shop lines), Bozeman has officially rolled out a new tool to satisfy your curiosity. Introducing the Bozeman Police Department’s Data Dashboard.
Think of it as a real-life version of those crime maps you see in TV shows, except this one’s powered by local data and updated daily. The dashboard lets you explore everything from calls for service to traffic stops and crime reports. You can filter by type, time, or trend to see what’s happening around your favorite hangout spots or your own neighborhood.
The data comes straight from the Bozeman PD’s Computer Aided Dispatch and Record Management Systems, which means you’re getting the real deal. Privacy is protected, too. Exact addresses aren’t shared. Offenses are pinned to the nearest intersection, so no one’s front porch makes the map. Only “approved” cases make the cut, meaning nothing still under investigation shows up.
Where Are The Biggest Crime Hot Spots In Bozeman?
According to the dashboard, N 7th Ave / Wheat Dr is the top location, followed by E Main St / S Rouse Ave. Both of these spots are labeled "The predominant value of Crime Against Type within this cluster is Other or N/A."
Whether you’re a data nerd, a concerned neighbor, or just a little nosy (hey, we get it), this map’s got you covered. To check out the dashboards, tutorials, or mobile-friendly view, visit the links below and explore Bozeman’s latest step toward transparency and tech-savvy policing.
