Montana’s Most Popular Airport Looks To Expand
One of the most popular airports in the northwestern part of the country is getting a make-over, and it just so happens it's right here in Montana.
Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport is the busiest airport in Montana and it seems that an expansion is needed to keep up with the demand. The airport is not only used for commercial aircraft, but personal as well, as there are many private jets that fly in and out of BZN.

What are they planning to add to the existing structure? Well, it seems that the addition calls for more gates, and they would like a 2nd runway.
In fact, that's the plan going forth, although there is a bit of research that goes into all of the planning. They need to make sure that the noise levels are acceptable, that the environment around the facility is safe, and how the expansion might effect things like traffic.
How many people use the Bozeman Airport?
Speaking of traffic, according to KBZK, the airport sees about 6 thousand passengers a day during winter and 7500 during summer, so, as the community grows, it seems the airport will as well.
Oh, and we chatted about that 2nd runway, well, it seems that the current runway wasn't made for large airliners, and is made for private aircraft, so when you look at it from that perspective, a 2nd runway makes sense.

What do you think? Are the expansions something that will benefit the community? How you do you feel about the addition of gates and a 2nd runway? Let us know by sending us a message on our app.
