Montana Locals Share Their All Time Favorite Western Films
With the passing of Robert Duvall this week, many of us have been thinking back on the incredible Western films he helped bring to life. My personal favorite will always be Lonesome Dove. Robert Duvall portrayed Augustus McCrae, also known as ‘Gus.’ Watching the cattle drive journey from the small Texas town of Lonesome Dove, all the way to Montana. It’s a love story, adventure story, and so much more all rolled into one. Be prepared to cry if you’ve never seen it before.

The Hell's A-Roarin' Horse Drive
The Hell’s A-Roarin’ Horse Drive happens every Memorial Day weekend in Gardiner, Montana, as hundreds of horses are driven from the rodeo grounds up to the mountain town of Jardine. Hosted by Susan and Warren Johnson of Hell’s A-Roarin’ Outfitters, this Western tradition honors veterans and supports them in a meaningful way. All net proceeds from the event’s live auction go toward purchasing Action Trackchairs—custom, all-terrain wheelchairs that help disabled veterans regain their freedom and access to the outdoors. It’s a powerful mix of community, heritage, and heartfelt purpose.
