This Montana Restaurant Was Ranked The Best Budget Lunch In The State
These days it seems harder and harder to find anything affordable. Even grabbing a quick lunch feels like a challenge. Sure, we all have the usual drive through spots that stay consistent, but even those prices seem to creep up every time you blink. I have a few of my own go to places when I need something quick and cheap, but a recent roundup listing the best affordable lunch in every state caught my attention. Of course, I had to see what they picked for Montana.
Since I work out of Bozeman, I was secretly hoping to discover a new hidden gem here in town. Instead, the choice took us west to Missoula. Before I get into it, I am curious what your favorite cheap local lunch spot is. Everyone has that one reliable place you can count on for a good meal that does not crush the wallet, so feel free to send them my way.
According to the list, Montana’s standout spot is Five on Black, a fast casual Brazilian restaurant. They serve Brazilian staples like pao and feijoada, and they offer build your own bowls that pack a ton of flavor. A large bowl runs around $17, but the small size comes in just over$11, which still counts as a win these days.

What surprised me most is that Five on Black is not just in Missoula. They also have locations in Bozeman, Billings and Great Falls. So even though the list pointed to Missoula, most of us around the state can give it a try without going too far. If you are looking for something different, fresh and still somewhat gentle on the budget, this might be your next lunch stop.
