AFSP Highlights Suicide Prevention & Awareness Month
September is Suicide Prevention & Awareness Month and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is taking extra care during these important times to talk about mental health. In order to raise awareness they have the following presentations and events taking place:
Craft for a Cause
Join Hammer & Stain Belgrade for a Wood Sign Workshop on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's just $10 for each project that is sold and proceeds will go to Bozeman Out of the Darkness Walk, a local effort to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. Just show up the day of the event to create one of the many premade projects.
Presentation on Mental Health During COVID-19
This is a critically important time for everyone to take extra care to protect their mental health. This presentation provides some practical tips to be as proactive as possible during COVID-19. The virtual presentation is Thursday, September 24th at 7 p.m. and you can register here.
Presentation on Suicide Prevention
Learn about common risk factors, warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep yourself and others safe. This is a 45 to 60 minute education program that provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, and what they can do in their communities to save lives. Out of the Darkness Closing Ceremony
