Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are some events going on in the Bozeman area:

Sweet Pea Ice Sculpture Competition

The traditional Sweet Pea Ice Sculpture Competition is happening on Saturday at Soropotmist Park. Carving gets underway at 9 a.m and judging begins at 3 p.m. Awards are announced at 3:30 p.m. There is no fee to enter and there is a demonstration on Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the park. Savage Ancient Seas at Museum of the Rockies

Museum of the Rockies is starting the year off with a brand new exhibit that creates an ancient underwater environment. Visitors will be able to see the vicious sea monsters of the Cretaceous Period and over 50 prehistoric marine skeletons. The exhibit is available for viewing during regular museum hours. Gallatin Valley Snowmobile Association Annual Poker Ride

Meet at the Corral Bar to get signed up for the Poker Ride on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the Gallatin Valley Snowmobile Association. Hands are $5 and there will be hot dogs at the 4th check station with free chili at the Corral Bar following the ride. More details here.

Kenny Feidler at Stacey's Bar

Kenny Feidler and The Cowboy Killers perform an acoustic show with Jacob Johnson at Stacey's Old Faithful Bar Friday night at 8 p.m. The music is a mix of Feidler's dark and stormy cowboy lyrics with a heavy alt-country sound.

Beginning Adult Belly Dance Class

Learn belly dancing at the OULA Studio Bozeman this Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. This one hour class is $12 and will cover the steps and cues and then create unique, improvised combos based on the music. More details and reserve your spot in the class here.

Ice Skating

Take to the ice this weekend in Manhattan, Belgrade, Three Forks, or in Bozeman at the local ice rink. This is a great past time to get out of the house and be active, while still enjoying our beautiful Montana winters. Most of these local ice rinks are open to the public free of charge, though you will have to bring your own skates. If you don't have your own there are several places that skates are available like Play It Again Sports.
