I am really excited to be in Montana and have wanted to move here for a while.  I never thought it would be so soon and I never thought I would have the chance to work with Dave right here at XL Country.  But besides Dave, I am looking forward to a number of things now that I'm here in the Gallatin Valley.

    Snowmobiling

Montana is known for some of the longest, most scenic trails in the nation.   So that is obviously one of the big draws of moving to Montana.  I can’t wait to try snowmobiling when season starts this upcoming December!

    Hunting

Hunting in Colorado is quite different than it is here.  In Colorado you have to put in for a license and hope that your name is drawn for a tag.  A draw happens for everywhere in Colorado. If they have some tags left over after the draw then you can buy over the counter.  I’m looking forward for hunting season to start here in Montana on October 21st.

    Getting Married

I have been planning on getting married in Bozeman since earlier in the year (even before starting with XL Country).  I liked that area and my finance and I loved the venue so we started planning a wedding here in Bozeman even though we lived in Colorado

    Star Gazing

I love that you can see so many stars here… I mean that’s why they call it the Big Sky state right!  I’m going to enjoy viewing the stars and hopefully might see a shooting star

    Skiing closer to home

My dad taught me to ski when I was only 6 years old.  He was a ski instructor in Colorado at Vail and Beaver Creek so learning to ski from him was awesome.  I was an avid skier growing up but once I went to college it was a little harder to hit the slopes.  I’m excited to be close to ski hills again and can’t wait to try out Bridger Bowl and Big Sky.

    Fewer people

There are lots of people in Northern Colorado.  That can be great since there are lots of shops and amenities. BUT it was too much for me!  I would always get stuck in traffic and the traffic here in Bozeman it’s so much more manageable!  So glad to not be stuck bumper to bumper on a regular basis.

    Fly fishing

I’m not an expert angler and haven’t had a ton of success when it comes to fishing but every summer I almost always go fishing (mostly just for fun!).  Now that I’m in Montana I will have to give fly fishing a try!  I will have to try Ennis Lake and Yellowstone River.
