Who do you think is Montana’s best athlete of all time?

www.Rantsports.com had a recent article and I was surprised by the answer. I get it that they would not recognize rodeo clown Flint Rasmussen as an athlete, but pound for pound, it is one of the most demanding athletic events of all. Plus how many athletes save the lives of other athletes?

But you pass up Dave McNally of the Baltimore Orioles. Born in Billings, McNally is the only pitcher in Major League history to hit a grand slam in a World Series game.

How about former professional Canadian football player Dave Dickerson, with the Calgary Stampeders and the BC Lions. Dickenson also played quarterback collegiately at the University of Montana, where he led the Montana Grizzlies to the 1995 NCAA I-AA college football championship. Dave was born in Great Falls.

But the web site selected Phil Jackson?

Phil’s one of the best coaches of all time, mind you Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant helped make him great, but best athlete?

Check out the article and see what you think.
