A Park County commissioner has made a plea deal with prosecutors who accused him of drunken driving last year before he took his current position.

Randy Travis was arrested late Tuesday night (Aug. 7) on suspicion of DWI following a car accident in Texas. The country singer suffered minor cuts and bruises after crashing his car, according to TMZ. His vehicle was the only one involved in the accident. He is still in custody as of Wednesday morning.

The Fourth of July is one of the deadliest holidays of the year due to alcohol-impaired driving crashes, so Gallatin County  Sheriff’s Office will be stepping up traffic patrols to help keep travelers safe.
