Bridger Foothills Fire

The Bridger Foothills Fire moves into its fifth-day today. Firefighters did receive some welcome rain and snow on Labor Day Monday, but the fire continues to burn on the east side of the Bridger Mountains.

What started out as some smoke above the "M" Trail on Friday in Bozeman, turned into a 7,100 acre fire.

Here is what we know on this Labor Day Monday about the fire:

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office will allow evacuated residents of Bridger Canyon to return to their homes temporarily on Monday, Sept. 7th.

Emergency fire officials, local law enforcement, and county government officials conducted an informational briefing at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday to issue an update on the Bridger Foothills Fire.

As of 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning, here is what we know currently regarding the Bridger Foothills Fire that continues to burn in Bridger Canyon near Bozeman, Montana.

The Bridger Foothills Fire continues to burn in Gallatin Canyon. As of this morning, the fire has reportedly burned over 11,000 acres.

Just after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Gallatin County Sheriff's Department called for residents of Bridger Canyon near the Bridger Foothills Fire to evacuate.
