I am sad for the loss of any life.  The women and children who were killed in this attack.  Also, for the thousands of American men, women and children, and Afghan civilians who have been killed by the Taliban.

The Pentagon has released the names of 30 American troops who were killed when a rocket-propelled grenade downed their Chinook helicopter in Afghanistan last weekend The attack represented the biggest single day loss of military personnel America has suffered during the nearly ten-year Afghanistan war.  Overall, 1648 Americans have died in the conflict.

A soldier from Great Falls was reported deceased while serving in Afghanistan. The Department of Defense announced on Friday that Specialist Jonathan Pilgeram, 22, died on February 17th while serving in Konar Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
