Honda has announced a nationwide recall that involves nearly 1.7 million vehicles across the U.S. The recall is due to potential steering problems. If you live in Montana and drive a Honda, here is more information about the recall.

Honda is recalling certain 2022-2025 Acura and Honda vehicles. Several Honda models are equipped with all-wheel drive, which makes them popular in Montana and other mountain states.

What Montanans Need to Know About Honda Recall

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle. Here are a few warning signs you need to watch for.

If you own one of the Honda or Acura models included in the recall, take it to an authorized Honda dealer in Montana. Honda will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge.

Honda owners can expect to receive notification letters scheduled to be mailed on November 18, 2024. You can also contact Honda Customer Service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are SJS, MJU, QJT, and VJV.
