The weather has always been a mystery for me. I hope I'm not the only one. Take today for example. We have a Winter Storm Warning for the Gallatin Valley, yet when you look at the forecast it says rain and snow are expected. So, since I'm not a meteorologist, here is what the National Weather Service says about our weather for the next few days. Please pass all complaints onto the NWS.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST Tuesday...

* Snow accumulations: for tonight through Tuesday evening...4 to 8 inches are likely in most valleys...with 10 to 16 inches likely in the mountains. However...in some valleys...mainly near Dillon...White Hall...and Ennis... snow amounts will be a bit less due to periods of a rain and snow mix.

* Visibility: strong winds will create near white out conditions tonight through Monday...especially over mountain passes and other locations where higher wind speeds commonly occur.

* Other impacts: strong winds tonight through Monday night will combine with dropping temperatures to create wind chill values as low as 20 degrees below zero.

* Locations affected include: Battle Ridge Pass...Bozeman... Bozeman Pass...Targhee Pass...West Yellowstone...Boulder... Boulder Hill...Elk Park Pass...Homestake pass...Whitehall... Townsend...Big Hole Pass...Chief Joseph Pass...Dillon... Monida Pass...Ennis...Norris Hill...Raynolds Pass... Twin Bridges
