The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter Storm Warning for elevations above 6000 feet for heavy snow which is in effect until 5 am MST Sunday. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 am MST Sunday.

* Timing and main impact: light snow will continue through
Saturday night at lower elevations. Several high elevation sites
in far southern Gallatin County have received 8 to 14 inches of new
snow today with additional snow expected through tonight.

* Snow accumulations: total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches
below 6000 feet... with 10 to 16 inches above 6000 feet from near
Big Sky south to the Montana Idaho border.

* Winds and visibility: winds will continue to gust up to 35
mph... resulting in areas of blowing snow. Snow and blowing
snow will reduce local visibilities below one mile at times.

* Locations affected include: Bozeman... Bozeman Pass... Targhee
Pass... West Yellowstone... Ennis... Norris Hill... Raynolds
Pass

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
