The U.S. Census Bureau says Bozeman was the sixth-fastest growing “micropolitan” area in the nation from July 1, 2013, to July 1, 2014, with Gallatin County’s population increasing by 2.8 percent to an estimated 97,308 residents. It makes you wonder - why here? Is this good or bad? Some say it’s the oil on the Dakota border, but for Bozeman? I would think Oracle's purchase of Right Now Technologies a couple of years ago might play a part. I guess the good is jobs for the valley, but the bad? Maybe it’s our way of life will change. With jobs come more people. With more people comes more traffic and more crowds. By 2030, experts predict the county could have 136,970 residents! So, ready or not here we grow. I guess we could move to Bear Creek, but my job is here. Just like everyone else is looking for, which is the source of the problem.
