Astronomy Picture of the Day

Do you feel a social media overload from time to time? I'm right there with you. With my job being 90% online, I can't avoid social media for more than ten minutes, but every once in a while, social media delivers a gem. This time it came in the form of Astronomy Picture of the Day on Google+.

If you're confused as to why you would ever be on both Facebook and Google+, click this link to Astronomy Picture of the Day and see for yourself how easy it is to navigate and find very interesting content prevalent on Google+. As the creators tout, it's not so much a social network but rather an information network.  I found the image above on the Google+ page Astronomy Picture of the Day. I found their page after browsing the What's Hot section of Google+.

The best part of Google+ is the simplicity of deciding what content to see. It's almost like you are making custom TV channels of all your favorite shows, the shows being content from Google+ users.

Give it a try! What have you got to lose? (Besides even more of your family/friend, exorcise and hobby time?)

EDIT: I forgot to mention I lost my phone this past weekend. it was an Android and because I had Google+ on it, all my images were automatically synced online. My nostalgia driven psyche was forever grateful for this feature. I don't know what I would have done if I lost photos of Cambria the cat! I know you want to see more photos/posts/shares from me but they are all easily hidden from anyone but the people I intended to see them.
