Pete Hanson’s Daily Blog: Wanna Trade?
I was having a cocktail with a friend the other night, and we were talking about life stuff. He was asking some questions about my medical adventures of the past eight years, and commented that he was amazed at what a positive attitude I had about it all. I told him that there had been a few days along the we way when he wouldn’t have categorized me as positive. And I took a sip of scotch.
I won’t lie. There has been some crazy stuff I’ve had to deal with. Through it all though, there has been one thing that I reminded myself. No matter how bad we think things are, there is someone out there that would gladly trade places with us. Our worst moment would be an upgrade for them. And there’s not a day or moment that it’s not true.
I will be in Memphis the next few days visiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in preparation for another Radiothon in March. Now there’s a building full of parents that would gladly trade their situation for your worst moment today.
