This is the day that Venus will pass between the sun and earth.

It will happen between 4pm and 10pm our time.

You won't be able to see anything like this again until 2117.

A reminder, don't look directly at the sun.  Don't even look with sunglasses.  You need special solar filter glasses, or can try one of the methods found here.

Better yet...The Montana Space Grant Consortium (MSGC) in association with the College of Letters and Science and College of Engineering is organizing a public event at Bobcat Stadium to celebrate the last transit of Venus in our lifetime.  The event will provide safe solar viewing glasses, telescopes with solar filters, displays from MSU science and engineering students and faculty, and kids' activities.  From 4 to 7.
