A major weather system will be moving through the Bozeman area on Thursday. We're expecting up to 8 inches of snow thru Friday for the Gallatin Valley with up to 16 inches for the local mountains.

We're closing in on a record year for snow in Bozeman, and with this storm, we could break the season record of 128 inches of snow that was set at the MSU recording station back in 1996-97.

The good news is, after this storm moves on, the Bozeman area should enjoy some some sunshine for the upcoming weekend with warmer temps.

Traveling, especially at the pass level and higher elevations, could be challenging, so please watch your speeds and for Montana travel info click on the link below.
