A truck driver from Washington state was found dead in his truck on Wednesday at the Town Pump on Business Hub Drive outside Belgrade.

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office was on the lookout for the driver after receiving a call from his employer who was unable to reach him. The employer told the Sheriff's Office that the Town Pump was his last known location.

Both Montana Highway Patrol and Gallatin County Sheriff's deputies located the truck where it was still parked from the previous evening. The driver could be seen in the sleeper, but would not respond to the officers. Law enforcement forced entry into the truck so that Central Valley Fire and AMR could assess the driver’s health, but it was quickly discovered that he had passed away.

The Gallatin County Deputy Coroner determined that he had passed away in his sleep due to natural causes. His name was Elbert Price of Vancouver, Washington. Elbert was 61 years old.
