I know a lot of folks are heading out this weekend for the Christmas holiday next week. Here is the latest weather prediction from the National Weather Service:

Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from this afternoon through late Sunday night for elevations above 6000 feet...

* Timing and main impact: snow will develop over southwest Montana late tonight and continue through Monday. Travel may become difficult over mountain passes with snow covered and icy roads.

* Snow accumulations: 4 to 8 inches of snow are possible over mountain passes...with up to 2 feet of snow possible over the mountains.

* Elevations: for elevations above 6000 feet.

* Locations affected include: Battle Ridge Pass...Targhee Pass...West Yellowstone...Big Hole Pass... Chief Joseph Pass...Monida Pass...Raynolds Pass
