Traveling For The Holidays? Read This!
I know a lot of folks are heading out this weekend for the Christmas holiday next week. Here is the latest weather prediction from the National Weather Service:
..Winter Storm Watch in effect from Saturday afternoon through late Sunday night for elevations above 6000 feet…
* Timing and main impact: snow will develop over southwest Montana late Saturday and continue through Monday. Travel may become difficult over mountain passes with snow covered and icy roads.
* Snow accumulations: 4 to 8 inches of snow are possible over mountain passes…with up to 2 feet of snow possible over the mountains.
* Elevations: for elevations above 6000 feet.
* Locations affected include: Battle Ridge Pass…Targhee Pass… West Yellowstone…Big Hole Pass…Chief Joseph Pass…Monida Pass…Raynolds Pass.
If you’re staying here in the Bozeman area, we’re expecting periods of rain and snow through the weekend. They’re calling for very little snow accumulation, but be advised, right now, there’s a possibility of 1-3 inches of snow on Christmas night.
