Trace Adkins will take a different approach to his usual headlining arena shows this spring. The iconic country star plans to strip down his set and play in more intimate theater settings on his just-announced Songs and Stories Tour.

The performances will offer fans a more up-close-and-personal approach to the big guy, as he intends to incorporate both powerful stories and meaningful songs that have impacted the lives of his fans from coast-to-coast. The concept for the Songs and Stories Tour came to Adkins following a taping of his CMT ‘Invitation Only’ performance.

“I’ve had many narrow escapes and blessings in my life,” Adkins said in a press release announcing the new tour. “The right song at the right time has been my saving grace, and that’s something I have in common with the audience. Sharing meaningful songs, stories and some laughs ‘around the campfire’ is the country music tradition, and I’m looking forward to it.”

The trek is set to launch on March 8 in Des Moines, Iowa at the Hoyt Sherman Theater. Tickets for Adkins’ March shows will go on sale to the general public on Friday, Jan. 27, while the April and May dates are scheduled to be available on Friday, Feb. 3. More dates are expected to filter in as the tour approaches.

Adkins’ latest single, ‘Million Dollar View,’ which was co-written by David Lee Murphy and George Teren, is currently climbing the charts. Click here to read the inspiration behind the lyrics to the song.
