One thing that you're constantly reminded of in Montana during the winter is that is gets really, really cold. I don't think anyone enjoys below zero temperatures, and if you know someone that does, you might want to tell them that they're crazy.

I moved here from Boise in June and have loved every minute I've spent in Montana thus far. One thing I've noticed about people in Montana is that when it snows a lot and the roads are a mess, people don't complain. It's just business as usual and people deal with it. Sure, every now and then you'll see a car stuck in a snow bank, but that person probably wasn't from Montana.

Back in Boise, they're dealing with snow depths that they haven't seen since 1985. That's the year I was born. Everyone is freaking out and acting like it's the end of the world. People are getting stuck in their driveways as if they're never heard of a snow shovel. To be honest, it kind of makes me laugh because I know that people from Montana deal with the same thing year after year. The only difference is...they deal with it.

These are all screenshots from people on my Facebook friends list in Boise.

Montana, give yourself a big pat on the back for remaining calm, cool, and collected when dealing with crappy roads and cold weather.
