More country music favorites have been confirmed to perform at the 2011 CMA Awards, which are set to take place in Nashville on November 9. The latest additions to an already enviable list of performers include the Band Perry, Luke Bryan, Chris Young, Thompson Square and Eric Church.

The Boot confirmed the news of these high-profile additions this morning. If you were already planning on watch the festivities, this news should certainly amp up even more excitement for the big event.

But there’s something else that’s incredibly special about this particular selection of performers, other than the fact that all them are talented and fun to watch. As it turns out, all five of these artists are nominees in the Best New Artist category. It makes it the first time since 2008 that all of the artists that populate the Best New Artist category will perform on what’s known as “Country Music’s Biggest Night.” Country music history is once again being made at the CMAs.

While we’d love to see producers finagle it so all five of the nominees could perform some sort of all-star medley or mash-up, we’re just fine with seeing them perform on their own.

Tune in to ABC at 8PM ET on November 9 to enjoy what are sure to be “can’t miss” performances and to find out which of these worthwhile country acts takes home the Best New Artist crown.
