Whether you like yours with extra pickles or without onions, smothered in melted cheese or topped with bacon, you'll be excited to know May is National Hamburger Month.
National Hamburger Month isn't exactly a sanctioned event and greeted with the same fervor as, say, Memorial Day, but it does have roots. White Castle, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this month, reportedly created the gimmick in 1992.
A new development in the battle against salt is leading some scientists to question whether a low-sodium diet is actually healthy for you.
In a study published Wednesday by the Journal of the American Medical Association, Belgian researches "estimated sodium intake of nearly 3,700 participants, with an average age of about 40, by measuring sodium in their urine at the beginning and end of the study."
What they found was that the people with the lowest amount of sodium intake "had no greater protection against high blood pressure after eight years than those who consumed the highest levels," according to the Boston Globe.

Earlier this year, the TV show 'My Strange Addiction' (Wednesdays on TLC) featured a woman who has one of the strangest addictions we have ever seen. Adele is a 30-year-old who likes to eat couch cushions. She doesn't just chew on them, she actually eats them. When added all up, she has eaten a combined total of seven couches and two chairs in her lifetime.
We were so fascinated by this truly strange addiction that we decided to look for more footage of unusual eating addictions that they've had on the show. We certainly found them.
You can watch all 7 of them after the jump.
We all know that swiss cheese is holy, but it's the mozzarella that topped a pizza in Australia's Posh Pizza that has everyone whispering, "Holy Cheesus!"
Pizza maker Maree Phelan said she topped the pizza with cheese as usual, threw it in the oven and discovered the face of Jesus looking back at her when she took it out.
Do you just buy food when you go shopping for groceries? And what I'm talking about that you shouldn't buy are things like batteries, appliances, light bulbs, stuff like that. You will be wasting a lot of money due to the fact that most, if not all of those items and more will cost you much less at The Walmart, The K-Mart and other box type stores. Here's a list of at least 5 things you should never buy at the grocery store:
GLEE! I know, I'm a gleek. I admit it. I love this show. It's all about music and anything about music I love!
My wife Lori and I went to eat at THE WOK recently. We eat there often. Love the place. I do have one gripe about what folks call fortune cookies though. And that is they really aren't fortune cookies. I call them ADVICE COOKIES! :) I don't think I've ever gotten a cookie with a real fortune inside! Anyway, here's why I think the way I do about them:
I am one to always check the date on the milk carton. When it's date time, out it goes. Probably due to the fact that I never used to check dates, or smell the milk for that fact. I was just one who stood at the fridge, popped the top and drank from the carton, only this one time...
Let me just say this, I am not a great cook. I cook from my heart – but if that’s the way you describe your skills you know you’re bad! My 3 aunts got a big kick out of my lack of culinary knowledge during one of my early trips home after moving away to college
