Skier Triggers Avalanche Near Bridger Bowl [Video]

A skier triggered the Hourglass north of Bridger Bowl yesterday (Jan. 3, 2013). He hit a wind drift which broke 8″ deep by 20-30 feet wide. I generally opt out of the season pass each year and instead try to hit up all the special ticket price days at Bridger Bowl, Big Sky, and Moonlight. Cheap ticket days paired with full priced great powder days equals a great season for me! Avalanches have closed most of the lifts at Bridger Bowl for the past two days. Click below for video of the aftermath. According to Bridger Bowl, the one in Bridger Gully was the largest anyone has seen since the mid 1980s.
