The first weekend of State Basketball Championships is over, who brought home the gold?

Dan Cimmino - KBZK

Three girls titles were on the line starting with Class A in Belgrade as the Lady Locomotives of Laurel took on the Lady Maroons of Butte Central.

Out to Class B in Butte as Malta hoped to repeat, but it wasn't meant to be as Fairfield took care of the Lady M'Ettes 46-37 to win state. Shepherd then defeated Baker 50-32 to win third place.

Then in Hamilton came the most dramatic finish as undefeated Harlowton-Ryegate took on the Lady Panthers of Saco-Whitewater. Saco-WW led by 10 at the half, but the game would be tied and go back and forth late. In the end, the Lady Engineers came up short of making the game-winning basket and Saco-WW held on to win 38-37. Belt beat Winnett-Grass Range in the third place game.
